Albert Wintermantel, Jr. Obituary

Age 91, of Baden, PA, formerly of Emsworth, PA, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family, on Friday, March 1, 2024. Al was born in Glenfield, PA on May 25, 1932 to the late Albert L. Wintermantel, Sr. and Rosemary (Martin) Wintermantel. Beloved husband to the late Barbara (Rosenkranz) Wintermantel. Loving father of Barbara A. (Gary) Bradac, Albert L. “Buddy” (Barb) Wintermantel, III and Mary F. (Joe) Molnar. Cherished Pap of Matthew (Diana) Wintermantel, Sean Wintermantel and Bethany Wintermantel. Grand-pappy of Brooklynn, Jaxon, Bentley and Aribella. Al is also survived by siblings Mary Ann Hartle, Rose Marie Wintermantel and the late Barbara V. Wintermantel. Al proudly served in the United States Army and was a member of the 101st Airborne. He will be remembered as an avid reader and history buff who loved his trips to Gettysburg with his family. Al also enjoyed playing chess and was a chess champion in high school. He was a HUGE Pittsburgh sports fan and especially loved his Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins. Al had season tickets for the Pirates back during the Forbes Field era. He also loved classic country music and could name every song and song writer. Al was an avid bowler and a member of a bowling league for many years. Al loved spending every minute with his family and will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Family and friends received at RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment with full Military honors to immediately follow in Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery, 204 Cemetery Ln., Pgh., PA 15237. In lieu of flowers, suggested donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, www.dementiasociety.org/donate or Three Oaks Hospice, 300 S Walnut Ln., Beaver, PA 15009, www.threeoakshospice.com.
