Obituary

Atleah Kincaid Hansen Grubb, 78, of Sewickley passed away following a prolonged series of illnesses on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Atleah's childhood dual residences were her family's farm in Nottingham, PA, and their alternate home in Clearwater, FL. Atleah graduated Clearwater High School in 1962. Atleah met her love, Gary Grubb, at Elizabethtown College; the two left college and were married in 1963. Atleah then worked in secretarial positions at Perkins Hospital (Jessup, MD) and then Magee Women's Hospital (Pittsburgh).

Atleah cherished the role of raising her two sons through the 70's and 80's and she also held positions as Secretary of Sewickley UMC and later as a tax preparer during that time. Fulfilling a lifelong aspiration, Atleah attended Sewickley Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She took an RN position in SVH's Critical Care Unit upon her graduation from the program in 1992, a position that she maintained through the late-90's.

A member of Sewickley UMC for nearly 50 years, Atleah held many leadership roles at the church including Chair of the Administration Board and Chair of Pastor-Parish Relations. Atleah's service at SUMC evolved into being a worship service liturgist and later as a certified lay minister. Atleah was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sewickley Chapter, and the Sewickley Stitchers.

Atleah's enthusiasm for travel with her family and friends was a constant; cruising on the QEII, experiencing the Concorde, an epoch family vacation to Hawaii, countless returns to Vero Beach & Clearwater. Alaskan cruises were a favorite. In later years, Atleah had many trips to Sand Bridge Beach and a tour of Spain.

Following the sudden loss or her husband, Gary, in 2015. Atleah moved to the Masonic Village at Sewickley. Surviving Atleah are son, Eric, (father to Katie, Megan, and Robert) and younger son, Mark and his wife, Deanna, (their daughters, Claire and Emma). Atleah is also survived by her sister, Lynn Taylor, (husband, David) and a brother in-law, Howard Ludwick. Sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ludwick, preceded Atleah's passing.
