Cathy Dallain Morris Obituary

Cathy Dallain Morris, of Moon, PA, passed away on December 17, 2020.
Cathy was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada on November 5, 1955. Her family moved to
Sewickley, PA in 1965, where she attended Quaker Valley and married her high school
sweetheart, Kenneth (Butch) Morris on November 27, 1971. She worked as a Tax Preparer at
John Pournaras Agency, an Accountant at Talerico Ford, and most recently as an
Administrative Assistant at New Horizons Peer Support and Advocacy Network.
In partnership with her ex-husband, Butch, Cathy built a beautiful and strong family, who will
carry on her legacy with pride. She is survived by her devoted partner of 21 years, Phillip Smith;
her ex-husband Kenneth (Butch) Morris, her children, Steven Morris (Beth) and Melissa Morris;
grandchildren Emma Morris, Rowan Morris, Mason Morris, and Harper Morris; her brother John
Dallain (Susan); her sister Susan Colarossi (Richard); nieces and nephews Tammy Bowman
and Joel Dallain, Stephanie Hopson (Garret), and Alison Capalbo (Rob). She is predeceased by
her brother, Paul Dallain, and her parents, Helen King and Joseph Dallain.
Cathy was a courageous and strong-willed woman who is finally without pain and at peace after
battling physical and mental disabilities suffered when struck by a drunk driver 34 years ago.
With tremendous gratitude to Phil, she made the best of her life for as long as she could. She
loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world. She gave them “grief” for not calling
her, and never forgot to send them Pittsburgh sports gear for Christmas or a card for every
holiday with $5 tucked inside. From the day her children were born, she instilled in them good
manners and always prioritized their education. She beamed with pride when talking about her
children and grandchildren to anybody who would listen. Cathy’s best friend and sister, Sue, will
forever have fond memories of playing cards and laughing into the wee hours of the morning as
young adults. Cathy also looked up to her brother John who continued to advocate for his little
sister to the end. She will be deeply missed by her immediate family, as well as the Morris family
(Alonzo, Shirley (Broadnax), Skip, Gwen (Clements), and Debbie (Friday)), who adopted her as
their own over the years. Our hearts are broken, but she leaves behind a legacy of resilience,
strength, and perseverance.
