Dr. Donald Bruce Coleman

Dr. Donald Bruce Coleman, age 77, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023, surrounded by family at Concordia Villa St. Joseph in Baden.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia (Wallace) Coleman; son, Andrew Donald (Kendall) Coleman, of Sewickley, and his children Charlotte Grace, Elizabeth Virginia, Madeline Kate, John Andrew, and Julia Claire; and son, Peter Shields (Hannah) Coleman, of Toronto, Canada, and his son Evan Bruce.

Son of the late Donald Burt and Edythe (Mytinger) Coleman, of Sewickley, Bruce was born on Mother’s Day, at Sewickley Valley Hospital on May 12, 1946. He was a 1964 graduate of Quaker Valley High School. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University in 1968, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 1976. For the next 37 years, he served his local community through his dental practice in Ambridge.

Bruce loved to play basketball and softball in community leagues and at the Sewickley Valley YMCA, where he was a member for over 50 years. He enjoyed working on cars, lunches at the Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe, and family vacations at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. In later years, while battling Alzheimer’s Disease, he loved attending live music and cruise vacations.

Services and interment will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to the RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sewickley Shade Tree Commission, c/o Borough of Sewickley, 601 Thorn St., Sewickley, PA 15143.
