On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 Edward Gerard (Jerry) Huston, loving husband and father to three children, passed away at home at the age of 85. 

Jerry was born on September 25, 1934 in Pittsburgh as the youngest child of David Mateer Huston and Kathryn Huston.  He graduated from Hampton High School in 1952 and spent summers as a lifeguard at the North Park swimming pool.  Jerry graduated from Penn State University in 1956 and was a manager of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team while a student.  In May 1959 he married Lois Anne Miller and in 2020 they celebrated 61 years of marriage. Jerry was a sales executive with National Steel Corporation for 35 years. He and his family had the opportunity to live in other cities including Philadelphia, PA, Milwaukee, WI and Peapack, NJ over the course of his career. After retiring, Jerry enjoyed traveling, golf, reading and spending time with his family and friends.Jerry had a lifelong love of football and swimming. He enjoyed travel, reading and gardening. He had a warm and friendly nature and often was the instigator of fun and laughter. In his own words, Jerry’s life philosophy could be summed up as “Life is a series of obligations, some more serious than others – interspersed throughout with brief periods of self-indulgence.”

Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Lynn Elizabeth, brothers, David Huston, Donald Huston and Thomas Huston, his sister, MaryAnn and his parents.Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Anne and 2 of his children, John Gerard Huston, wife Heidi of Delray Beach, FL and Amy Margaret Huston of Washington, DC., and grandchildren, Jane, Jack and Madeline. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret (Peggy) Elms and brother-in-law Clifford Elms and many nieces and nephews.

A private burial is planned at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, PA for Saturday, June 27. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allegheny Health Network at www.supportahn.org/memorial
