Geraldine Elaine Shackelford

Geraldine (Geri) Elaine Shackelford passed away peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2022 at the age of 85.

A longtime resident of Princeton, New Jersey,  Geri also lived for many years in Sewickley, PA, Naples, FL and St. Thomas USVI.  Geri was a child psychologist and received her undergraduate degree from Penn State University, her masters degree from Duquesne University and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh.  She worked for many years for the Trenton Board of Education and also wrote many pieces for the Trenton Times on the subject of childhood development and education.  She enjoyed travelling to the islands and to Europe whenever she had the opportunity and never lost her interest in other places.

Born in Coraopolis, PA in 1936 to the late Louis C. Shackelford II and Dorothy A. Shackelford nee Teamor.  She is survived by her three children Mary Lynn Harris, of London, England, Trina Harris of Sewickley, PA and Terrance Nelson (Maria Nelson) of Stockholm, Sweden and grandchildren Jordan Harris, Olivia Harrison, Noah Nelson and Alicia Nelson. She is also survived by her brother Louis C. Shackelford III (Linda Shackelford) and niece Nicole Shackelford and nephew Louis C. Shackelford IV.  And  nephew Earl Richards of CT.  Geraldine was also predeceased by her sisters Louis Jean Richards and Arlene Rucker (Raymond Rucker).
