Janet Bobincheck Obituary

Janet S. Bobincheck, age 90, of Fair Oaks, formerly of Sewickley Heights and Adah, died on October 23, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Janet was an avid quilter and loved to embroider baby gifts for family and friends. In the spring she tended to her garden and flower beds. She also loved changing and freshening up the house with a new coat of paint or wallpaper. In the summer she would love to hang her laundry outside. In the fall she would can the fruits of her labor. Canning pears in pineapple juice and making grape jelly were her specialties. Holiday baking was a passion, especially her nut rolls.

Janet graduated from German Township High School in Fayette County. In her early years she worked at the local company store, and then later as a clerk in the post office. Her favorite occupation was wife and mother. She married her sweetheart, Leonard in 1955, and went on to have three children. After her own children were grown she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Often jumping rope, playing hopscotch, reading their favorite books and singing nursery rhymes. Later on she enjoyed sitting back and watching her great-grandchildren grow.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jennie Glad, brother John, son Leonard, Jr. and sister Mary Ann with whom she was especially close. She leaves behind her husband Leonard of 67 years who had been her primary caregiver after suffering a stroke. Also surviving are her daughters Jeanmarie DePace (Rick), Denise Bobincheck (John), grandchildren Stefanie Jo Strohecker (Lee), Jeffrey Schulmeister, Vitoria DePace (Ben), MiKayla Sallese and great-grandchildren Dylan, Ryleigh & Tyler Bianculli, Kyle & Kalob Strohecker, and Luke Schulmeister.

Special thanks to two of the most caring nurses that took extra special care of Janet. Shannon and Makenna provided support and comfort during our difficult journey.
