Lois J. (Asche) Rush

Lois Jane Asche Rush, 89, of Sewickley, was born Jan. 8, 1933, in Rochester, Pa., the second of four children born to the late Charles F. and Irma M. Edmonds Asche. Lois departed this life Saturday, July 23, 2022, at her residence. Raised in Beaver Falls, Pa., she graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1950 and the Garfield Business Institute in 1953. On Aug. 4, 1956, she married Homer Rush, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2008. Lois was a longtime member of Triumph Baptist Church of Sewickley. Surviving are her son, Charles Michael Rush, of Sewickley, and Melinda Lee Rush, of Euless, Texas; granddaughter, Danielle M. Strother Rush; great-grandson, Xavier Rush Williams, of Pittsburg; sisters, Elizabeth A. Douglas, of Rochester, Pa., and Barbara A. (Donald) Haynes, of Williamsburg, Va.; brother, Charles F. Asche, of Vancouver, Wash.; nieces, Andrea D. (Timothy) Hanford, Vicki D. (Terry) Gaddy, Nanette Douglas (Kendrick) Sykes, all of Florida, and Nia J. Stanley, of Moon Township; great-nieces, Zoe Stanley, of Sewickley, and Aschely Gaddy, of Boyton Beach, Fla.; nephew, Jonathan R. Stanley, of Alexandria, Va.; and great-nephews, Denton and Adrian Gaddy, of Boyton Beach, Fla., and Ian and Eli Herring, of Moon Township. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, in THE RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022, in Triumph Baptist Church, Mt. Nebo, Pa. In lieu of flowers, Lois's family asks that contributions be made to the Sewickley Community Center, 15 Chadwick St., Sewickley, PA 15143, where Lois had worked for many years.
