Marjorie U. Rice, age 91, died on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her daughter’s (Becky) home, in Pittsburgh, PA. Marge grew up one of eleven children. She lived for many years in the Highlands and then for three years in Miralea on Masonic Homes Campus in Louisville, KY. She was a longtime member of Bardstown Rd. Presbyterian Church. She was an avid University of Louisville sports fan.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Frank F. Rice, and longtime BFF, Joe Anne Overstreet. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca R. (Mark) Wilson and Elizabeth R. (John W.) Silvestro, both of Pittsburgh, PA; four grandchildren, John J. Silvestro (Sally Neidhard), Frank Silvestro, Sarah Wilson, and Rachel Wilson; two great grandchildren, Julia Silvestro and Polly Silvestro. She is also survived by her brother, Bill Underwood of Winston-Salem, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service and visitation will be held at HIGHLANDS FUNERAL HOME, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40205 on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. and services will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dare to Care Food Bank, PO Box 35458, Louisville, KY 40232 and /or Buckhorn Children’s Foundation, 116 Buckhorn Lane, Buckhorn, KY 41721.
