Obituary

Mary Jane Cowen, a longtime resident of Sewickley, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, after a long illness. Wife of the late John H. Cowen. Mother of Gail (George) Rollins and Paula Beckwith. Also survived by her sister-in-law and lifelong best friend, Patricia Cowen, three grandchildren; Sherry (Jeff) Adams, Rebecca Rhawn, and Jessica (Michael) Meerdo; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her three brothers and their wives; Thomas and Helen Webber, Wilber and Miriam Webber, and Edwin and Katherine Webber; and her husband's two brothers, Laird, and his wife Shirley Cowen, and Gerald Cowen. Mary Jane and her husband John were teachers in the Quaker Valley School District. Friends will be received at THE RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143, on Thursday, May 4th, from 3-7 p.m. and on Friday, May 5th, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
