Rita Ann (Monahan) Kowallis, of Edgeworth, PA, passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Born February 21, 1927, in Woodlawn, PA, she was the beloved wife of the late John Robert Kowallis. She proudly completed her BA and MA degrees at The University of Pittsburgh and taught in the Hopewell School system for twenty years. An Edgeworth resident for over seventy years, she is survived by her son Jon, her brother Gary, nieces Ginny Bush and Carlene Papa and step-son Jack. Rita was a member of: The Edgeworth Garden Club, The Women's Club of Sewickley, The Sewickley Music and Book Club, and was very active at Sweetwater. Arrangements are entrusted to THE RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143.
