Robert Clyde “Bob” Clear, Jr., passed away in his Ambridge, PA home on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Bob, also known as Bobby to those who knew him best, was born on August 29, 1959. He was a lifelong resident in the Sewickley area and was known by many. Bob also lived in Roanoke, Virginia for a period of time before returning to Pennsylvania in 2008. He was a lover of softball and played for many teams in both the Sewickley and Roanoke areas. He was also a devoted Steelers fan as noted by his many social media posts about them…and in Bob fashion, didn’t sugar-coat his feelings. He truly loved spending time with his boys whether it was hunting, fishing, or just hanging out. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. Clear, Sr. and Jane Lloyd Clear. He is survived by his sons, Robert “Robbie” C. Clear, III of Roanoke, VA and Lucas S. Clear of Ambridge, PA. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Priscillaand Frank McCune of Blaine, PA, his niece Meagan (Steve) Devereaux of New York City, NY, nephew Michael (Tomoko) McCune of San Diego, CA, great-niece Isabelle McCune, and great-nephew Kaito. Bob also considered Bradley Phelps and Brian Cole his brothers, in addition to a host of other very close friends he would consider family. And if you knew Bob, you had a friend for life.
