Robert (Bob) J. Knoll, 90, passed peacefully on Thursday, November 11th. Bob resided in Ambridge, PA and has joined his late wife and love of his life, Maryann Villella in heaven. Bob is the son of the late Albert J. Knoll and Rose Dupin of Groveton, PA. He is also preceded in death by his older brother Albert J. Knoll. Bob was an US Army Signal Corps Veteran, serving in the Korean War and long-time accounting employee of LTV Steel (formerly J&L Steel) working many side jobs because he believed in “hard work and the value of a dollar”. Bob put family as his top priority throughout his life and personally cared for many of them. His numerous friendships were also very important to him as he continued to care for his friends and their families throughout his life. One to never sit down, Bob enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, hunting, going to his camp that he restored with his children, and telling his life stories. For 42 years, Bob was especially known for his research and purchase of valued collectibles and for making a deal on the purchase of these treasures as well as surprising folks by gifting items to them. He also loved taking his collectibles in his van and setting up for sales throughout PA. Bob will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, endless generosity, wearing his favorite color blue, standing in for James Cagney in CA, his cleverness, and his keen ability to know something about everything and everybody.
Bob is survived by his brother and best friend Louis F. Knoll (Arizona), his two children, Rebecca “Becky” M. Knoll and her spouse Jeff Cherny, and Louis “Lou” F. Knoll; Lou’s children and Bob’s beloved grandchildren, Casey R. Reilly and her spouse Pierce Reilly, and Robert L. Knoll (named after his pap); his precious nieces, Audrey Cowley spouse Rick Cowley, their daughter Candice Nelson and spouse Nick Nelson, children Noah and Nixon, niece Deborah “Debbie” Newport and her son Sean Newport, spouse Olivia Newport and their daughter Quinn Newport, and niece Ruth Ann Knoll and children Dehlia, Gary, Jr. and Tiana.
