Sasha Koledin Obituary

SEWICKLEY - Sasha Sava Koledin, a long time resident of Sewickley, Pa. passed away peacefully at his home in Sewickley on May 17, 2022. Born in the former Yugoslavia on October 6, 1938, he and his family fled communism to find a better life in America after the Second World War. They first lived in Ambridge and later moved to Sewickley. After graduating from Quaker Valley High School in 1958, Sasha joined the US Army. He was later stationed with the 26th Infantry in Baumholder, Germany during the Cold War Era. After his military service, he studied at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh receiving a degree inInterior Design. After working in New York for a time, Sasha returned to Sewickley to work with his mother, Jovanka, at Koledin's Decorating. Sasha loved music, especially the Blues and Rock and Roll. Known as "The Video Recorder" for RNR History, he filmed countless musicians throughout the years, and will live through his Music Archives. He was very devoted to his Serbian Orthodox faith, attending St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church in Aliquippa for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dusan and Jovanka Koledin and his younger brother, Ben Koledin, He is survived by his Son Sasha Koledin of Sewickley, Pa. and his former wife, Marlene of Moon Twp., Pa. Friends will be received in The Richard D. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 328 Beaver Street Sewickley, Pa. 15143 on Monday May 23, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Promen Services will be held at 7:30 PM, Monday in the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Tuesday May 24, 2022 at 11 AM in St. Elijah Serbian Orthodox Church 2200.
