Sue Heilman Krul, Age 73, of Sewickley Hills, formerly of Hopewell, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, following a long illness. Sue was born February 22, 1950, in Bellevue, PA. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John F. Krul. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Russell A. Heilman and Margaret “Peggy” (Jackson) Heilman. She will be sadly missed by her cousins Jack Sarver, Jean Mayo, David Sarver, Otto Meineke, Debra Frasier, her sisters-in-law and their families.
Sue was a 1968 graduate of Quaker Valley High School and 1972 graduate of Westminster College. In 1980, she received her Masters of Education from Westminster College. In 1972, she began a 42-year career as a teacher and administrator at the D. T. Watson Home (Watson Institute). Sue was dedicated to serving physically and mentally handicapped children.
She was a lifelong member of the Little Hill United Methodist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Sue enjoyed frequent trips to California, Canada and Las Vegas and was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates and Steelers.
During her illness, she enjoyed sharing meals and conversation with family, high school and college friends. She was extremely grateful for the love and care provided by Stef Huff and Tom Beatty.
Family & friends will be received on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 2-6 p.m., at RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143, where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to immediately follow at Little Hill United Methodist Cemetery.
