Obituary

William R. Stewart, of Zelienople, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Lutheran SeniorLife Passavant Community. Mr. Stewart was a loving husband of seventeen years to Mary Lou (Kite) Stewart who survives him, having come into her life after the deaths of her first husband followed by her only daughter.

Mr. Stewart was retired after decades spent with the U.S. Department of the Navy as a security specialist tasked with alerting staff of potential issues aboard naval vessels. Well known among bridge players in the area, Mr. Stewart was frequently either playing duplicate bridge, teaching it, or seeking out others who enjoyed the game.

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his father, Ken, Sr.; his mother, Elizabeth; his first wife, Bonnie; his sister, Marilyn and her husband, Dan; his brothers, Ken, Jr. and Mark; and Mark’s wife, Rita; as well as, one nephew, Gary.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stewart is survived by his daughter, Gail; granddaughter, Emily; grandson, Tom; step-granddaughter, Maralee; favorite brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol; nieces, Sharon and Gayle; nephews, Mark, Jr. and Ken, III.

Services and interment will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to THE RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 328 Beaver St., Sewickley, PA 15143.
